Default Planer question

I'm replacing piezo-horns. Other than lateral dispersion of sound, are there and problems using them 90 degrees off axis? So horizontally instead of vertical. They're supposed to the cats meow off axis. They're Dayton planar 8's, they're not expensive if I have ditch them.

Thank you
