With the audiostatics, the small midpart is fullrange. Adjacent parts are first order crossed with a secundairy resistor. So actually it is a kind of semi-crossoverless design. Long ago I made non-segmented esls but I found out that introducing segmentation the sound improved despite the excistence of the 'crossover'.

Very strange and silly answer.....

What's wrong with some simple mechanic/ electical work?
Making a hybride or full range esl is easy to do. Getting some good components can be more difficult.
