a baby grand piano planar design.
I have designed a new full range planar speaker, for playing piano music. It is in the shape of a baby grand piano soundboard. Have placed all the neo magnets in position (1,560 25 x 6 x 3 mm neos) Just have to mark out 3 diaphragms, and put the 3 mm tape in position. Then wire it all up. Finalize the shape of the soundboard Then play some piano music.:D:cool::hohoho:

Ha Ha! That's cute. Google Bosendorfer. It's a brand of piano.....potentially a very large piano. We've got one here with the extra low keys in Orlando at the Westin Grand Bohem Hotel. Pretty slick instrument.

small planar baby grand.
Have finished the bass diaphragm, hard on my back putting the 3 mm tape on. Also put the Astragal frame on, to hold the diaphragm tight. The medium diaphragm is next, this is smaller so will be easier on my back. Can't wait to play some piano music thro' it.:hohoho::D

Will be sending photos tomorrow.Have put the tape on the middle diaphragm, measures 4.2 ohms, perfect for amp. I hope to finish treble diaphragm tomorrow as well if the back stands up to it.I'm afraid it won't be much to look at, I'm a lousy carpenter!!

I hope you realize that if you place this horizontally the diaphragm will sag in a parabolic or if ur lucky, spherical shape due to gravity?

Jes' sayin'...
