Hello All, Have just bought some Griffin 85 studio electronics been after some for ages. Well built beasts, but have a problem with a mid range unit. Does anyone know the manufacturer of the mid unit, have seen suggestions of peerless, celestion or Griffin special. This is a link to a post giving more info on the G27 forum. Griffin "27" Omega 3 Loudspeakers - Opinions?
Thanks for any help Dave |

I have since looked at the mid-range on a pair of studio electronic pros (super 85s)/(G115s I think) and they are radfords, main difference appears to be they have a plastic cage over the dome.

The 115 has 3 B139s, one internal firing down as damping and 3 x Coles 4001 super tweeters, against this the mid-range unit seems a bit feeble. Anyone know any more about them, I assume the tri-amps were different to those in the 85s.
Mid is Radford MD6/1 somesay this is a rebadged peerless unit. They have a plastic cage unlike those in the 85 but are they the same? Last edited by arrow707; 24th November 2011 at 06:31 PM. Reason: update |
