Well, IMO ,go for price per (/) material volume per (/) field strength vs surface area /
I hope I (said that right) I figured out a formula for capacitors aswell. farads / voltage / price The lower the better. Been a while since I figured that one out Anyway the most density for the price of course. stacking them is like putting batteries in series .jer Last edited by geraldfryjr; 19th March 2011 at 11:10 PM. |

i just found a product that may be of interest for making diaphrams
Chemtronics | Workshop Consumables | Adhesives, Sealants and Tapes | PCB Compounds and Adhesives | Conductive Adhesives-PCB Compounds and Adhesives |CW2900 it is a conductive silver paint pen ,it could be used to draw nice tracks on a mylar ribbon from top to bottom instead of glueing aluminium to the maylar heres another RS | Workshop Consumables | Adhesives, Sealants and Tapes | PCB Compounds and Adhesives | Conductive Adhesives-PCB Compounds and Adhesives if conductive enough you could simply lay out your mylar and draw your tracks top to bottom ,it would only work for a segmented ribbon though and i,m not sure how it would hold up to corrigating cheers sheafer |

The last time I bought one of those pen's was in 1992 for $14.95 from MCM.
The second one was in 1996 for $17.95. At that time I thought the price was absurd. Luckely it was still good in 2001 and when I repaired my apogee panel. jer |

hi jer
so how were your results ? there are many other types of paint i have found now seems like an easy way although getting a pen with a tip of around 5mm may be hard would work well with say a ribbon of 1.2m long by 50mm wide with say 9 5mm tracks with 1mm spacing between cheers sheafer |

hi jer
yes i have built a couple of esl speakers and there are a few products that stick quite well polyureathane glue being one of them one of the silver pens i provided a link to specificly mentions mylar ans flex circuits so i think its workable longevity is unknown though as the ribbon will constantly be moving cheers |

Oh, Okay. I found that the stuff is very flexible and I have even been able to solder too it but it is very tricky.
I also tried to use it as a base to plate copper .jer |
