Hi Brian the Krells do a very good job but with Acoustat's the more panels you have the easier they are to drive.

I have Levinsonīs Class A amps on my 2 + 2īs and I was always curious how the old pure Class A references from Krell sounded on Acoustat.
Had a chance to buy a pair of KRS-200īs but their sheer size, dangerous looking sharp heatsinks held me back...

Yes there size & weight 228 pounds each mono blocks recaping these baby's is not cheap and these amps are 25 years old so they will need servicing pretty soon IF it as never been done, but they are GREAT amps. André

Andre, were those 6600 & 4400 being run together as a single pair of speakers? (Spectra 101000?)

Yes hella, all 20 panels driven by a single pair of KRS-100 Krell's Reference Standards mono blocks.

It's true that with everything doubling of the panels you get an extra 3 dB of SPL with the same amount of power but parallelling the interfaces will halve the impedance. That's where the KRS-100 comes in handy of course with It's ability to drive 1 Ohm loads like the Apogee Scintilla easily.

Amplifier = Plinius SA-250MK1V
Preamps = Promitheus mono signature double c core
Cd player = Ayon CD-1 highly modified
Speakers = Acoustat Spectra 8800s
Subwoofers = JL Audio Fanthom F-112 X 2

The best sound I have found out of one 121 interface.... is to have at lest 3-9" panels ea.... 4-9" panels work...but to me the 3-9" are a sweet spot...no 8"panels in the setup... like the M3,an M4s...
The 1s.. 2s...1+1....do not sound as good....well too me... i know that other feel diff an in a smaller room thay all work....But i am talkin about the 121 interfaces an how thay sound best an work best...not whos Acoustats sound better...Any of them sound better than most..... an this as always is just one Acoustat lovers o-pine..........thanks for the pix
