Ribbon super tweeter?

Looking at the various plots of diy and commercial ribbons I generally notice a roll off in the highest octave. Is it possible to build a long ribbon tweeter that extends further on the top end by using very narrow ribbon maybe 1/16” or so wide if the intent is to use it above 10K?

I think there's nothing inherent in the operation of a ribbon that would limit its high frequency response to 10 kHz. If the ribbon is too massive (the material is too thick) it might roll off the highs, but I don't think it's true that ribbons in general have a hard time reaching 20 kHz. Can you point to some measurements that provide examples of the tendency you mentioned?

1/16" ? thats close to nothing ....1/4" would makes sense that high

Im actually making one right now about 5" long, with iron as poles

My design is done upon the magnets I had already and may not be optimal

But yes, if a ribbon rolls off early its basicly because of the weight
And its common because many people want it to go low, by making it bigger

A small ribbon is very easy to build
Major problem is impedance, and another reason to go big, but more complicated construction
