It's all great stuff! The performance to cost ratio is so much higher than for commercial speakers.

I am the builder of that 7ft ribbon, it was going to be used for a Gibson speaker system that they backed out of. Of that design which was very simple and a pain in the butt to build for Thilo Stompler. the project was scratched due to the ribbon being very difficult to keep from twisting and even with bumpers added to keep the ribbon on track it still twisted badly. It sounded very good at med spl's unlike anything we had ever attemped before. Thilo still has those ribbons if you want more info on them i am not sure if they are in working order. and in that pic that is the film with alum/mylar sandwich

Yeah, I know hat mean, on both counts
Long ribbons are not so straight forward, but sound very special

A few people have chosen planar design
I have not yet tried that
Well, not 100% true. There was a woofer planar
