I never heard of Hygeia and am curious how they compare to other popular brands for ribbons. I see there are only two threads on here about Hygeia. Im particularly interested in the RAT-2001 model. Figure I would ask and see how it compares to more popular ribbons.

I have worked with some of their drivers and they seem to be good if not excellent. I`ve had the following (among others):
- Hygeia RAT-2002 (modified - flat ribbon, excellent tweeter) - Hygeia RT-1101 (small circular planar magnetic, good above cca 5khz) - Hygeia RM-8404 (open back version planar magnetic mid, excellent for frequencies above 800 hz or so) ![]() ![]() best regards Miro Loudspeakers from Abyss |
