I have both, but havent listened to the horn loaded TPL yet....
Here's a measurement of both without baffle. The upper curve is, obviously, the TPL150H. I would expect a little more LF extension with the TPL150H mounted in a baffle. The TPL150 sure extends a lot more in a 30-40 cm wide baffle. I'm will try to run the TPL150H as low as 800 Hz... |

I am very sceptical that these AMTweeters can handle a few watts of pink noise (third-octave bandwidth) around the lower cutoff freq without introducing easily to detect massive amounts of distortion artefacts , aka intermodulation distortion . Reason is the non-homogeneous driven surface and the nonlinear mechanical spring properties of the conductor/film-carrier combination .
Someone out there might have the balls to check that out sorry for the bad news ... |
