I mechanically stretched to get the film roughly flat, then used heat to get tension. Mine was a Saran 3 film, which is biax oriented and relatively soft. If you don't mind frequent re-tensioning, you can get away with this. The Clysar has the same problem, but I only have to re-tension it about every 6 weeks or so.
