While I've not heard it, the AV123 Strata Mini sounds like exactly the speaker I've been dreaming of, but is not close to being within my budget. It's an augmented magenetic planar and I know nothing about these. Are there DIYable? Where would I start in regards to finding drivers, needed crossovers and or anything special about implementing planars?

It looks like a Neo8 or similar planar mid with a circular planar tweeter. The tweeter looks like something I saw from Harmony of Taiwan, but I've heard that their stuff is less than excellent - the mid may very well be a Neo8, though it would need some hefty EQ to work properly as it has some wonky frequency response problems.
