Hello,

I'm not the most tech savy guy on the planet and i think installing PiCorePlayer plugins has got the better of me.

I'm trying to install a plugin:
GitHub - millerdev/lms-ultralight: Ultralight - a Logitech Media Server skin

Instructions say:
Logitech Media Server Plugins - SqueezeboxWiki

1. Download the plugin file
(often a ZIP) from the owner's site (linked from the directory pages above).
No sweat. Downloaded and extracted.

2. Put the file(s) in the SqueezeCenter 3rd party plugins directory.
Heres where it all goes wrong.

Its suggested that the directory structure is something like:
/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins, /usr/local/squeezecenter/Plugins or /opt/squeezecenter/Plugins.

With the micro SD card plugged into my windows machine, none of this directory is visible. So i've got no where to put the files.

If anyone has any idea as to whats going on, i'd appreciate the heads up.

I've tried ext2fsd but for some reason it has failed to start.
Status: Ext2fsd count not be started. And this is with run as administrator.
File size, total size, used size are all blank with partition type = linux.

Would a virtual machine do the trick ?

[Edit]
Got it going with ExtFS.
The directory structure bears no resemblance to the instructions.

Thanks anyway Ian. Cheers man.

Sorry, I was wrong on both counts!

1) the LMS directory structure does not exist on the SD card, only in memory after installation.

2) This will only be temporary, and will be lost on reboot.

My reading is that you need to modify the config file to add that file after installation.
Greg, is this correct?

Ian

hifix,

There are 2 possibilities:

1) Use a program like ext2fsd to enable Windows to access linux files, or

2) use putty to access your running picoreplayer box and download and extract the add-on there.

cheers

Ian

I managed to find the directory with the plugins on the micro sd card. After copying a folder with the the Ultralight LMS skin there, it was still not visible in the LMS plug ins tab.
I'm not sure if there are differences with LMS for piCorePlayer ?

Thanks for all your feedback guys.
A reply has been posted on the slimdevices forum (Ultralight LMS thread) and if it all works out, i'll post the "how to" here. If i can get a mobile skin going for LMS it would be a real bonus.
