Thanks for all the input everyone! I've decided for what I need I'll just look for a small cheap laptop on the used market. Just missed out on one for $100, but I'm sure patience will win out.

Default a cheap loptop

Hi Dave,
A good choice. The cheapesed. A 32 bit is good and maybe as much as possible usb ports. OS system as new as possible. Brand does't matter.
And maybe change the power supply for a better one. It will increase the sound.

I own a Lenovo chromebook and have no complaints so far. It has a solid performance.

I work on windows most of the time so, I would suggest Windows any day but if you have work regarding streaming mac is also a good option. Battery backup can be a factor to consider.
