Default Need suggestion for best slim optical disk drive

I need to purchase a SATA slim ODD for a slim HTPC case. I'll need DVD, CD, and Blu-Ray read support (best accuracy is what I'm looking for). Write support is not as important but CDR, DVDR would be needed at least. I'm really looking for the best slim ODD to finish ripping my CD, DVD, Blu-Ray collection to storage.

I needed a slim ODD for my 1U HTPC case. Easy I thought, but then I found that it was hard to find one to fit the 15.5mm x 130.6mm slot in the front panel. I currently use an external USB drive.

What are the dimensions of the slot in your case?

The manual doesn't say
This is the case SilverStone Technology Co., Ltd.INTRODUCTION:PT12

Here's the dimensions of one that fits

128 x 129 x 12.7 mm ( W x D x H )
5.04" x 5.08" x 0.5" ( W x D x H )

Also open to full size drives since slim might not be as reliable. I can put it in an enclosure

Lite-On DVD Burner Black SATA Model iHAS124-14 was reported as the most accurate as of 2016

Why not use your normal PC for ripping and any format conversions, then transfer the files to storage?
Anyway, any DVD drive will do as it is only ripping. Any decent ripping program will integrity check the files.

The machine that I use is my regular desktop. I don't like the external full size one I have and was looking to replace it. I was hoping to ditch the external altogether but it looks like that's the way to go performance wise

"128 x 129 x 12.7 mm ( W x D x H )"

That seems to be the standard size. For some reason, my case has a bigger than standard front panel slot.

Everything I've seen says 9 mm with 12.7 mm faceplace or just 12.7mm

I would think that's standard

Do you have a link to your case?

I see what you're talking about. It looks like the hard drive and slim ODD go into their own cradle and then slide in the front. Can you take a close up pic of that cradle and faceplate
