Tidal Rasperry Pi iPad

I am about to buy a Raspberry Pi 2, HifiBerry Digi + Pro already built into a case with sd card to use streaming Tidal and Internet radio to my Chord 2qute using an iPad or iPhone as controller.

I am however a total newbie and have no idea how to go about it I understand that using Roon Audio is about the easiest way but I would prefer not to have to pay such high rates.

So if anyone can give me step by step guide on how to do the above rememembering I am a total beginner I would be very, very grateful. I would also like to play the 100 or so music files I have stored on a usb hard drive.

Raspberry Pi 2 has been superceded. Why not the 3B ?

There's a strong preference on this Forum for Moode Audio, but its Setup Guide is less detailed than that for Volumio. Since Volumio is still free, you could try that first.
