Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

Hi Tim,

I've got Moode Audio Player (2.6 Test Release 4) installed and working on my Raspberry Pi 3, with Kazoo on Windows and iPad as the control point and Minimserver running on a QNAP NAS.

I want to use the Openhome multi-room feature to sync the Pi with my Linn DS, with the Linn DS as the master. Should this work as I'm having some problems?

Kazoo on Windows shows the Pi renderer but without the group button underneath it.

Kazoo on iPad shows the Pi renderer with the group button, but only the option of having my main system play what the Pi is playing. Selecting this causes Kazoo to crash and is actually the opposite of what I want, as I want the Pi to play what the main system is playing.

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

I'm not an expert in UPnP systems so u might want to post your question to J.F Dockes the author of upmpdcli, the UPnP renderer used in Moode.

Here are some links:

Have Pi 3 connected to wifi and it works great except I am unable to access the music files on Synology NAS. The error message seems to indicate that NAS is looking for certain credentials i. e. account name and password. At least I think that is the issue. I have included a couple of screen shots and would like some comments and suggestions on how to solve connection between Pi 3 and NAS. Thanks

Hi,

Try Squash = No mapping

Thanks changed to No Mapping. It is weird the error appears on the screen but I noticed in the bottom left it says updating. Is that a good sign?

Do u know if Soekris DAC works with the plain HiFiberry DAC driver?

If not then disregard, otherwise try selecting "HiFiBerry DAC" (not the DAC+) as the I2S driver in System config.

Btw, the repro suggests that rpi-dac I2S driver in 4.4.10 kernel is broke.

RPi3 + Soekris - I2S - I2S - audio device - "HiFiBerry DAC" = WORKS! :)

It will repair I2S audio device "Soekris DAM1021 (I2S)" in 2.6?

Thank you Tim

Hi,

Thanks for confirming this, much appreciated!

Yes, I could make this change for 2.6 so that Soekris DAC (I2S) uses hifiberry driver instead of rpi-dac driver but I need to investigate further, and would also like to get confirmation from the other Soekris users below that hifiberry-dac driver works for them.

@meldano
@carsten.witt

Below are boot log messages for both drivers. As you can see the underlying driver "pcm1794a-hifi" for rpi-dac overlay fails to resister while for hifiberry-dac, its underlying driver "pcm5102a-hifi" successfully registers.

RPi-DAC

Hi,

Correct, turn DoP off in MPD config. Below is list of I2S devices that use hifiberry-dac driver.

I have TR5 version installed on RPi2, sound is very good.

I noticed album cover shows maybe about 10% of time, I don't see an option. Is there a setup/configuration I should look for to enable downloading album cover for songs being played?

thanks,

Hi,

Moode supports cover art either embedded in song file or as an image file (folder.jpg, cover.jpg, ..png, etc) in the folder containing the song file.

There is no "Internet query" for cover art in Moode.

Tim
