Default Terratec? Old DMX X-Fire 24/96

My beloved wife just bought me a new (S/H) computer running W7. I was collecting all the old computer parts to take to the local "Computers 4 Kids" and I found this card. I have never used it, I had major compatibility issues with my old mobo an in the end decided to go with the on-board sound.
I've got a lot of vinyl still to be uploaded to HD and I want to know if anyone here has tried using this sound card with the Vista drivers in a W7 environment. I know it's old technology but my ears are older. If I can get this card to work it will save me a lot of beer money ( not to mention SWMBOs birthday present)

OK I'll just buy a new computer and use W2k as the OS, cheaper than buying a new sound card with RIAA bulit in. All I want to do is transcribe some of my vinyl to hard disk and keep it safe.
Unless some-one could give me "Simple" lessons in using Linux

Just thinking?
Would I be able to get this to work by installing Windows "Virtual machine"??
