Default Connexelectronic Psu for media server ?

Hi all,

I've been looking for a suitable psu for a music/media server for quite a while and there seems to be no off-the shelf solutions out the apart from the noisy brick.

I did think about a linear supply but then I came across the Connexelectronic's stuff, I am no expert but quite capable of putting the thing together, but my question is- is there any reason why I should not use one of the resonant smps such as this - Connexelectronic

My requirement is 19v and and will never need more than about 30watts /4 amp.

thanks.

I would say that Connex products are very good & affordable, I use their psu to power my Hypex amp. But I don't think that they have product with 19v out. Some of their psu has aux output of 12-15v but only capable to deliver around 500ma which is too low for your requirement. Maybe you can ask for custom output, just email Christi, the owner.

I decided to buy this instead Buy Bench Power Supplies BENCH POWER SUPPLYE ALE2902M ELC ALE2902M online from RS for next day delivery.

Very very quiet, cut the noise transmitted over USB to almost in audible.
