The extra channels are from the I2S output.
The I2S interface must be enabled for AC97 in the Mixer Window. I think the enable box means that the I2S interface will be used for extra channels to make 7.1 surround to the sound card LineOuts, otherwise the I2S will output to a header on the sound card.

I went through some trial and error until I figured it out but it works, I'm using 8 outputs from the back of the sound card.

Thanks. That would have probably taken me a long time to figure out also.
Now all I have to do is figure out what kind of subwoofer I want to build.

Does anyone know how I can use the parametic eq with Windows 7?
I need the kx 3550 drivers I have for Windows 7, but the parametic eq works on older drivers only.
It's in the UFX 1.54.3539 pack.

Thanks.
I'm not sure what to make of the fact that I could not find ufx for 3550 considering I've spent hours looking for it.
I've looked through that forum too. Probably even through that specific thread
