It seems I am not the only one getting this 'skipping' problem with v2.7. It is pretty consistent - I load a single file or folder/playlist and get the problem. With a single track it will start playing OK, then after a few seconds it starts to go out-of-synch and echoes. With a list of tracks, it skips 1 or 2 tracks completely before it starts playing and then does the same. Same on flac and mp3. Same on 24/96 as 16/44. Load files up locally on HDD or from NAS !! Same files perfectly OK on Foobar/JRiver. Tried re-installing software - no good. Occasionally it does play perfectly OK and sounds really good, so I want to persist with it. Any bright ideas ???

I 've heard of this problem (simultaneous playback) from others too, but i can't simulate it to none of my pc's. I am listening with PurePlayer daily and it never heppened. Do you have any desktop visual effects enabled?

Hi, I am big fan of JRiver, but PP sounds better to me - more natural and organic. Well done with your work on it. However, this 'simultaneous playback' problem ! I use XP SP2 - virtual memory disabled - loads spare RAM - CPU hardly being used - no other apps running - no internet connection - monitor powered off - I have tried files on local HDD / USB stick / NAS all the same result. Tried single file / folders/ playlists - can't think of anything else to try. Have more or less identical setup on a friends PC, and it's fine, so I'm suspecting it may be my machine. Anything else to try before I start swapping bits of hardware or reintalling OS ?! BTW - I'm going to WIN7 soon so I'll report back. Many thanks

Hillbear, I get the same issue on a Win 7 setup - I haven't reported it here as my WIN 7 is a beta SP1 version & so I thought it might be a beta OS problem.

It seems to start multiple instances of flacplayer in the background & sometimes when I quit PP it still plays as Flacplayer is still playing in the background. Hope this helps in diagnosing the problem?

It does the same with mp3 files as well as flac ! Same with 24/96. Also, it takes ages to start playing each track - possibly about 20-30 seconds. Will keep trying things...

Yes, I've been trying it again & have noted a couple of things (I mostly play Flac or WAV files). No visual effects enabled.

- it seems to only happen when Wasapi is ticked on
- it seems to be caused by 24/96 or 24/88 files
- if it starts to skip, then turning off Waspi seems to bring it back & it begins to work properly again.

Hi John - trying mp3 files. If I tick WASAPI box it skips through the whole list without playing them. If I then untick the box it starts playing track for 5 seconds or so...then starts 'double playing'. Same with FLAC and WAV, I'm afraid

I just installed version 1.2 and it played fine, without playing multiple files at once. I have not tried the various other versions besides 2.7 (which did play multiple files at once). I am using Win7 on an Acer netbook, so I know I'm using the bare minimum of memory, but I am running with many of the Windows components turned off, no anti-virus, no firewall and file paging turned off. I really haven't had a problem with other players (except for J.River in WASAPI Exclusive). I don't see how it could be the machine, unless there is some service or component turned off that is needed by PurePlayer.

My simultaneous playback problem but not always happen, just sometimes. And i notices it only happen to music files with almost same filenames with different extention ( example 01mysong.mp3 with 011mysamplesong.flac ), but not always happen, just sometimes. I'm using windowsxp sp3, with standard visual themes. I always forgot to tick show command, howto make it always show command (for debugging purpose)?
