I'm pretty sure that your Qnap will run out of steam...

Thanks for the input guys. I think I am going to put off trying DRC again until there is a much simpler and efficient way of implementing it.

I am new to DRC and I have tried to get it to work only under the room schroeder frequency, which failed and increased the high frequency content.

Is my DRC trying to make up for the lack of high frequency content in the impulse measurement and can I do anything about this?

I have DRC working for 2 channel 44.1khz bit all the way to 8 channel 96khz, at 16 and 24 bits.

All without fiddling.

It is documented here:
A how to for a PC XO.

Default my studio

If you talk about your studio as your reference. I'm wondering if you run DRC also at your studio. How do you make sure that your mix is not "colored" by your studio-gear and studio itself?

Because 'my studio' is actually the actual venue. I record on location that is 'my studio' is most often a church, a cathedral, a school auditorium etc.

Hi, I'm having troubles installing drc. Even with the most basic CFLAG settings, I get:

Code:
jamballa source # make install
install drc lsconv glsweep /usr/local/bin
install -d /usr/local/share/drc/config/
install config/* /usr/local/share/drc/config/
install: Verzeichnis ‚config/44.1 KHz‚ ausgelassen
install: Verzeichnis ‚config/48.0 KHz‚ ausgelassen
install: Verzeichnis ‚config/88.2 KHz‚ ausgelassen
install: Verzeichnis ‚config/96.0 KHz‚ ausgelassen
make: *** [install] Fehler 1
(the message reads "install: skipping directory 'config/*KHz' make: ***[install] error 1")

Any hints what to try?

You don't install DRC. You run it from a command line, with the appropriate parameters - usually from a batch file.

Well, I have to build it from source, 'install' might be an inappropriate term, still, some files are being dispatched somewhere to the abyss of the systems' directory tree.

Linux...next you'll have to compile your damn soundcard driver..

The windows version is already compiled. It's a tricky enough process as it is.

I just can't see how linux is worth the pain. I've tried Ubuntu twice and gone back to Windows. Linux just has a way of making simple things impossible.
