Mac OS X and USB Subwoofer

Hello!
Is there a software solution that can use any USB audio codec to act like a subwoofer output with the built in laptop speakers still playing? Just as the iSub did.

I'm intressted in this to. You basically asking to use two soundcards for one audio source.
I was wondering to, if this is possible with some sort of software.

No not right now there isn't. But it has been an issue for quite some time now and I believe the Apple development team has started work on it now. According the Engadget.

But as i understand it, multiple outputs from the same device. So with my Firewire DAC i can get a total of 4 outs (L1, R1, L2, R2). The Mac is still only outputting to 1 device.

I still think you may, especially with that DAC. See page 25 of the user manual.

Output more than one channel of audio with puremusic. Look at the manual and their crossover pdf on the website downloads. I am not sure what it all requires, but it is designed to do what you all want. It may need a specialized audio interface, or several DACs. the instructions aren't clear to me.

I know i can do that. Since i have 4 outputs on my DAC i can output 4 channels (next size up supports 10 channels). But the Mac is still only talking to 1 device. The OP wants to talk to 2 different devices devices.
