I'm new to this part of DIY, hope someone can provide some help. Using a PC running WinXP SP3 and Windows Media Player 11 to share my music to an XBox 360 on a hard wired network. Also on the network is a box running Windows7. WMP is set up to share with both the xbox and Win7 box, and recognizes them. The music folder and subfolders are also shared with windows simple file sharing.
When I go to the music library on the XBox it recognizes the computer, but sees only 7 of the 5,000+ tracks. The files that it sees are in different subfolders. Media Center will not open at all unless the Win7 machine is running. With the Win7 box running the XBox can find all of my files on the XP box. I understand that the XBox should be able to see the XP box files without having to share them through the win7 box. All that I have been able to find are fixes for the XBox not seeing the XP box at all. Does anyone have any ideas to make the XBox see all of my media without needing to have the Win7 box running? TIA |
