Default Mystical PCI soundcard

Hi folks,

I have found this mystical soundcard, the specs seem to be great and it costs only 50 bucks, did anyone here tried it or heard about it ?

I am considering buying it and rip my old Xi-Fi out of the computer...

Here is the link on Ebay :
ooAoo SQ210A+ Stereo HiFi PCI Sound card for PC VIA1723 - eBay (item 350384055445 end time Dec-07-10 06:05:03 PST)

I may be off-base, but it sure looks a lot like the ESI Juli@, including the description (i.e. I2S out from the header).
Search the forum for the Juli@ - there should be some photos. If it is the same, it's a very good card - and at $50 it's a great deal.

Nah, not the same as Juli@, but interesting nonetheless.

Hmm...VT1723 'Tremor', not as good as 'Envy'. :/

Anybody knows what are the two inductors possibly for? Output transformers for SPDIF? Pulse transformers come in this package?

Urgh, not even close. I guess I was blinded by the white circuit board.

If all you want to do is pass the bits unmolested out to an I2S connector, either should get the job done, although only 6 output channels vs 8. If seems to indicate only 2-channel I2s, but if this actually sends all 6 channels of I2S to that connector it may be a very interesting card indeed.

All what i am hoping to achieve is to use this in my new PC-central with big disk array for playing my Flac files and movies in stereo only. ( i take it from the description that this card is stereo)
I have found that the Esi Juli@ is great but it is a bit out of my budget and has allready more functions that i can need, so i was hoping that this card may be cheap substitute. It seems that the only way will be buying one and testing it.

hate to break it to you but the x-fi has excelent specs:
Creative X-Fi
Indeed for CD playback where the SNR of 16bit linierly quantised data is only 96dB (theoreticly) the xfi is more than good enough with a SNR of 113dB in the 24bit tests linked. Cards like the Juli@ are for recording multiple channels and have balanced outputs not for better stereo playback. Save the money and get some more CD's

No need to pass the I2S out as this card seems to have the AK4396 dac if my eyes
don't fool me.
