Hi again.
I've bought a 1820m and I'm beginning to see real progress in making it sound acceptable. We all know that there's nothing called perfect or even sufficient so the work goes on. On the of the obvious flaws in the design of the 1820m is the power supply, and you would never see anyone seriously considering a PWM PSU in serious high end equipment. I intend to convert it so that there's an external well regulated PSU for the break out box but in order to do this I need to disable the power feed from the computer. I should also mention that the 200kHz switch spike is clearly visible on the analogue end of the DAC, but perhaps not so much on the line out after the OPs. Does anyone know the pinout for the RJ-45 on the 1820m? Even better, has anyone done this before? Thank's Last edited by jbop; 5th May 2010 at 11:55 AM. Reason: Forgot to add |
