Default BOSOZ Output Waveform Question

I hooked up a 1khz 1vdc waveform generator to the input of my BOSOZ and measured the output before the attenuator.

The output is a 4.5 volt square wave. The bottom of the square wave is rounded. (See attached picture)

The output from the signal generator is nice and square 1khz waveform on my scope.

Any ideas for how I should adjust the BOSOZ to square up the signal?

Thank you!

-David

Did you measure the output with less input voltage? The BOSOZ works best when fed with a signal between 0,3 and 0,6 Volt. Perhaps 1 Volt is a little too much.

Just my two cents,

Fox

I have thin idea about the square wave things. Nevertheless, the asymmetric edge rounding looks very unusual. The asymmetry explains that the internal capacitance of the amp seems to have different rates in charging and dischaging time--really unusual.

Did you check the sq. wave at 10kHz too?

Here's the output with a 1khz .6vdc square wave. Scope is set to 1volt per division.

Top trace is BOSOZ output, bottom trace is the waveform generator.

DOH! My bad. I did not connect the - Neg phase of the balanced input to ground. After ground the neg input the waveform is nice and square!

10khz .6vdc square wave on the pos input, neg input grounded.

^^.

My mistake rate is rather high in one per ten measurements.
But, only once with the same kind . . .

1 in 10 - hey that's pretty good.

I screw it up everytime, especially when it has a zener in it somewhere.
