sorry to bother any body but i wonder if my aleph was loud enought so i want to know how much in put should it take ?
i had an pre amp that will give 8 volt out put and 16 volt balanced but i don't heared loud as i trun up the volumen i had an 30volt and 300millvolt on 0.47hom i have 24 fet any one? |

Well it depends how much power your version of the AlephX has. I think the original schematic delivered 30 W, so with inefficient speakers it is maybe a bit low when you want to play really loud.
However I think 8 V are far too much input and drives the poweramp only into clipping since its rails are 15 V! Cheers, Hannes

Have you grounded the unused input? If you're using a single-ended input, that's good for 6dB right there.

sorry about mistake what i was try to tell is my aleph was not loud it can not play very loud i want to know why ?and how much in put i need to make it maxinun out put ?

Hi,
the gain is 20dB so 1 volt input will give 10volts output. For a 100 watt/8 ohm Aleph x this means around 2,8volts before clipping. William
