Dear all,
I seem to be completely unable to find here either schematics or other interesting informations about this preamp - the Aleph L What it makes interesting for me is it's an unbalanced design - and since I'm building the unbalanced pearl right now this seems to be a reasonable choice - and the later version 1.2 (?) uses an interesting way of adjusting the volume. It would be truly great, if somebody could point me to links, discussion, parts lists or whatever information there might be about this - I'm sure - undeservedly only rarely build pre! I would also update the wiki so that others have it easier then. Also thanks to Mr. Pass and Mr. Colburn for sharing their work!! With kind regards, Hannes |

Halo,
There were quite many discussions about the Aleph L preamp here. As I recall the latest one here: Aleph L v.s. Aleph L Rev 1.2 Drop me an e-mail via forum and I will send you service manual if you still need it. Use search button and you will find much more about Aleph L than in the link above. Bartek |

Thanks a lot for your reply!
I searched really quite a bit, but didn't find your linked thread! I'll have also found some other infos and pcb, so when I've time in the next days I 'll do a wiki for better overview. When looking at the schematic of the 1.2 version, I cannot see a connection between the amplifying IRF9610 on the left hand side and the power supply? Is it really missing or are my eyes getting blind? Cheers, Hannes |

Oh I just saw the point marked "L" also shows up in the power supply. My bad, I'm stupid
However this looks like a serial type stepping attenuator? Did ever somebody recalculate the values for a ladder type stepped one? Cheers, Hannes |

I made a first wiki-entry about the Aleph-L, see http://www.diyaudio.com/wiki/index.php?page=Aleph-L !
For now it contains links to pcbs and a short intro text, but I will add stuff now and then. Everbody feel free to add information! Cheers, Hannes |
