I am currently borrowing a Promitheus TVC passive preamp (which uses transformers to attenuate gain) with my X150 amp. I really enjoy the sound of this preamp BUT using single ended inputs on the Pass I have to turn the preamp a few click away from max. Would I be better off using the XLR input of the amp since the Input Impedance is higher at 22kohm balanced, compared to 11 kohm unbalanced? Is there any way to increase input sensitivity on the amp? I am not super technical - I leave it up to the experts. Thanks & Merry Christmas!!!

One thing is certain - higher input impedance won't help you with gain. Is it not simpler to raise the output of your source?
