IRFP350's are very, very inexpensive. Would anyone be able to tell me how to use one in a simple, inexpensive class-A amplifier akin to the SEWA?

General idea and background info:
http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/gadgets/mostest.htm http://sound.westhost.com/amp-basics...r%20Amplifiers and here is someone who has put one together using those basics. Simple Class A MOSFET Amplifier Distortion will be similar to that of a single ended tube. Also, any power supply noise will be heard so you will need to pay attention to the ps. In comparison to filtering caps, choke, power transformer and heatsinks, MOSFETs are very cheap. Once you are comfortable with the basics, look at the Zen series http://passdiy.com/amps.htm for methods of improving the sound significantly.
