My concern is to drive a pair of 15" drivers(spl=98db) mounted in open baffle -dipole type.....and that is on each side of my room.
I'm thinking on F1 or F2.But also I need a good damping factor for that two 15" 8 ohms drivers mounted in parallel.....so that will be 4 ohms. I need a good advice on this ....concerning to other dipole drivers that require a lot of power on the same spl. In open baffle the power is needed. Should I try class A or AB?The F1 or F2 should be suitable? Many thanks.

Dick Olsher reports good results with F2's on the bottom end,
and they will drive 4 ohms. Having said that, though, you should try different things and see what works for you. |

Hi Felixx!
If you want to use amps to drive dipole woofer, I think that you may need more dumping than that of a current source like the firstwatt, see more on www.linkwitzlab.com Hope it may help! Stefano

Thx. Nelson....& Stefano.
I know ...for dipole the high damping factor is needed and the dipole is power eating concept. Maybe I would try AB -op-mosfet's output transistors or an UCD kit class D. What concept do you think is suited for that aplication considering for the main driver(Supravox 215 rtf bicone-96db-spl) I will go with tube amps? Or should I go for bass dipole with tube amps(45w) and for the mains with an new F1 or F2 or ZV9? Thx.

to make 1 ohm to 16 ohms, and try them in series with a conventional voltage source or in parallel with a current source. |
