is this upgrade is still available somewhere and do i must send my unit for it
or is it something easy to do by just changing some chips? thanks. |

Sorry, the upgrade is no longer available. Some of the parts
simply became unobtainable, and now we only suport repair.

it is so good at 16/44Khz ... do you think i will get a better sound adding a X1 or X 2.5 for the volume control instead of it's own attenuator? |

If you get enough gain without a preamp, then I would
try that first. Some people report improvements with a preamp, but these are anecdotal. |

with a BNC 75 homs plug? when you feed the dac with a 75hom bnc cable for sure..? thanks .. a new pass addicted. |

I have a D1 and X2 (later version).
When using balanced interconnects into my X250.5, the system sounds better without the preamplifier in the way. There is plenty of gain. When driving unbalanced gear as in my headphone amplifier, it sounds best using the X2 to convert to unbalanced on the tape outputs. Go figure... The Ultimate Audio review of the D1 states: Quote:
