U.S voltage to U.K ??

Hi all,hope someone can help.

I have a X350.5 110v model and I have moved to the U.K which uses 230Volts,what is the best way to have the voltage changed,can i do this myself?
My X1 is also 110v.

Most of the producers uses dual primary windings (2*115V) on the power transformers and they just connect them in series for 230V and in parallel for 115V. Simple jumpers on the PS boards usually do the job. Knowing Mr. Pass older designs from service manuals he does the same. So all you need would be just to reconfigurate the junpers for 230V.

Otherwise you would need step up transformers. In case of preamplifier the 100Watt one would do the job, but in case of big power amp you would need a monster one.

You should try to get confirmation that the amp has two sets
of primaries that you can put in series. Generally a call or email
to peter@passlabs.com is the way to find out.

Thanks for the replies.

Could it still be the case that the transformers will need to be changed to work @230v?

If the primarys can be set differently as mentioned would this be a DIY job or a qualified engineer?

Believe me iam no expert

I asked them a week ago and got no reply that why i came on here.

They have now replied though.
