Hi!
The schematic I attached is a my version of class A, single ended ,mosfet power follower. I made the prototype and this is the most "neutral" sounding amplifier I heard so far! (this may be subjectivism). I have no equipment to measure thd but when simulating, this design gives 20 to 30dB better thd figures then classic type power follower. I wanted to make se class A follower that could be driven from a simple 6DJ8 common cathode voltage amplifier. Simulation results and other data: 1.thd 2nd. 0.005% at full power thd 3rd. 0.001% at full power thd 5th. 0.007% at full power 2.When driven with high output impedance voltage stage(50K), bandwidth is(15Hz - 100KHz(+/-0.5dB)) 3.Input stage bias 10.8mA 4.Out stage bias 2.2A per mosfet 5.Power 30W at 4Ohm in pure class A(Input voltage 18V) So, wath do you think, any suggestions before I start to make PCB? It would be nice if NP could comment... Cheers! |

It looks nice enough to me.

The input buffer seems like a good idea.

Should input transistors be thermaly coupled?
I`ll send PCB file when I do it... thanks! |
