Default IRF530n for Aleph?

Hello everybody

Just a short question. Is it possible to take the IRF530 N Mosfet for an Aleph 4 or 2 ?
It has a Voltage Rating from 100 V and a Current Rating of 17A. I’ve got a good offer for this …….
Thank you for Help

The Useman

I don't see any problems, provided you scale the number of devices; this must be done taking in account the maximum power dissipation in comparison to the power dissipation of the original devices, which are slightly bigger.
I'd aim to have about the same % of total power dissipation per device.

Cheers

Andrea

sells irf530n 0,43 Euro each, Irfp240 1,35 Euro each. There are really expensive parts like heatsinks, transformers and capacitors. I would use irfp240, its not the big differece if you see the price for all the parts for one amp.

Default WARNING !!

There is one very important point. Isolation from radiators. IRF530 is in TO220. You have to use a plastic tube on screw. IF AMP WARM UP THIS TUBE BECOME TO SOFTEN AND IN RESULT TRANSISTOR DO NOT STICK TO RADIATOR AND SECOND RESULT IT BURN. You need to design a good system to prevent this effect. I have burned a few in this way.
