When I first entered engineering school I was told that there are two kinds of calculators in the world: HP's and pieces of SH1T!

HP49G. I don't use Casio calculator. It's only for middle school students like Choky. ![]() But, I'm wearing Casio on my wrist. Whenever I read dirital time, I train my brain to work, drawing image of the analog needles . . . |

No logic, no theory, just for fun
I have tried four different speaker cables between ZV5 and J-Low: - Furutech (Japanese brand) (High-price) - DAXX flat type (Papa’s country brand) - Audioplus (Babo’s country brand) (Mid-price) - My DIY cable (Economic-price) I hear that my DIY cable is very fine, particularly in high frequencies - no grain, very smooth and silky. I made it with silver-plated and Teflon-insulated copper wires (net 1mm diameter), which I bought in local market place selling marginal left-over industrial pieces at cheap price. I just twisted six wires for one cable of 3m length, and used two for + connection and two for – connection. The remaining two wires do not connect the amp and speaker, i.e. one end is open on speaker side while the other end is connected to the earth in ZV5 (not signal ground). The attached picture might explain better. From the picture, if you find out one small bulldog clip, that point is where the earth connection is made by the clip. My DIY cable pushes away the other three, in sound. No logic, no theory, just for fun . . . Nice week-end!!! |

A real question
In the neighbouring threads, Papa sharpens his words about the strange behaviors of IR P-ch MOSFET. As I used IRFP9240 (with IR N-ch IRFP250N) for my Zen V5, I was trying to hear any strange behavior with my ears. But, I couldn't . . . I couldn't hear it . . . due to the Source resistors and NF? By the way . . . By mistake, changing interconnect cables between my pre and Zen V5 careless, I punched one mono block of Zen V5 to death with a spark of high Vgs. I had to renew all MOSFETs. And, this time I added the protecting back-to-back 9.1V zener diodes across G and S. After the repairing, I found all work fine, listening to ZZ Top . . . I bought this CD in Hong Kong . . . The music I like . . . The CD quality so good . . . found that the mastering was by Bob Ludwig.

Nothing new here . . . All of you might already know this . . . I just want to inform you once again . . . To confirm that Zen V5 accepts this . . . I added this for all MOSFETs of the amp and the PSU . . . And, I highly recommend this to whom building ZV5 . . .
