All amps need good power supplies:
Edit: The PSU consists of a 400VA 2x24V transformer, 4 x 10 000uF 40V caps and 2 x 25mH 3A (airgapped) double C-core chokes. The heatsink will hold two capacitance multipliers for further smoothing and slow startup. |

Both channels operating late one night, the voltage reference LEDs shines a bit too bright for my taste:

tell me more about your power supply. It looks beautiful. I'm a believer in filtering chokes. I run an LCLC filter on my ZV7-T. It's dead quiet, even with 110db 1w1m horns.

Thanks!
I strongly believe in CLC och LCLC filtering whenever quiet power supplies are needed. I got a bunch of these chokes from a surplus store a couple of years ago and I think 25mH will be more than enough to make this amp completely silent. After the CLC filter comes this IRFP260-based capacitance multiplier, I need to drop a few volts and, most important, have a slow startup to avoid damaging my speakers. |

I finally got some top plates on these babies:
Now when they are finished I realize that cascoding the output stage probably would improve things quite a bit (not that they donŽt sound marvellous as they are) but ripping them apart and changing the circuitry would be too much work. ThereŽs also a risk of damaging the threadings by removing and reinserting the bolts too many times and i DON`T want that to happen (again...). The PSU remains unfinished since IŽve been doing a lot of prototyping and started (and almost finished) a X-Soz project simultaneously. Once the X-Soz gets finished IŽll hook everything up in an nice and hot biamped setup |

Their big, balanced brother will also be finished soon I hope |
