What is a replacement for the IRFP240?

I have lloked for IRFP240's for a Aleph-X 100W but cannot find them for a reasonable price (AU$17.00 each!!!). Please suggest an altenative option. as the IRFP240 has been discontinued.

What about the lead-free version, IRFP240PBF?
It seems more distributors have this in stock.

you could try purchasing direct from IRF, buy 100 and the price drops to 1.54US ea. Usually there around 2.50ea. Shipping costs to OZ are generally high, but if you buy bulk it should even out. There not discontinued from the manufacturer.

thanks rpapps i am in newcastle so futurlec is good and close they are cheeper than the quote i got when i got Willtronics at $3.05 plus GST and shipping so works out to be $3.50 each to try direct buy.
but 200PCS is the minumum that they will ship to willtronics.

I used to sell them, but now just sell the matched pairs -- you might try Digikey -- their service is excellent

I was thinking, if you only need a few, I could mail them to you at cost. Shipping would only be a couple dollars ($5 at the most), certainly less than a supplier would charge. I only have 25 though, so if you want more than a few, it doesn't make sense.
