Which aleph amp is the best choise in a bi-amping system for bass and mids? Frequency range (40 - 1000 Hz); Output power/ch about 60-80 watts.

I think a good choise could be the aleph 5, but it has an damping factor of only 50.
The aleph 60 has a damping faktor of 100 and so more control for the bass.

Or an alephX? output power? damping faktor?

Damping factor is a virtually meaningless specification as regards bass quality.

If an amplifier has an output impedance of 0R05 it is said to have a DF of 160.

So what?

A typical 8R speaker will have a DCR of 5R, and the inductor in series with the woofer will add another 0R5, for a total of 5R55 (adding amplifier output impedance but neglecting any connecting wire).

If the amplifier had a DF of infinity the motional (generator) voltage of the speaker would still have 5R5 in series with it. And still 5R if bi-amped.

I own a transformer coupled amplifier with a DF of 14. It is much 'tighter' in the bass with much more 'slam' than amplifiers with DF in the range of 400 and UP.
