Default Aleph vs capacitive(low inductance)cable

I plan to use some 1m diy speakers cables like CAT5 construction. The capacitance expected is about 2000pF,which is high.Does anybody know the Alephs reaction facing that kind of braided multistrand wire ?

I intend to use the version of 54 wire 24 gauge.I actually run some diy speaker cable with 4 pairs twisted 0,75mm2 on 75 cm lengh. One one of my Aleph monoblocks,I can hear the toroid making physical noise from time to time. ]

I have a Zobel network at the speaker end of the cable, consisting of a 4,7 ohms non inductive series with 0,1uF.

Is it possible that the amp oscilates???I have broken no speakers yet, even at loud listening levels.

Anybody?Nelson?...would you suggest one of your magical......things?

The Aleph is exceptionally stable, and I have not encountered
a load which makes it oscillate. This is reflected by the
fact that the design doesn't bother with an RC load ("Zobel")
network at the output.

Particularly since you have chosen to place an RC across the
load, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

The toroid making noise is more likely to be DC on the AC power
line, usually caused by lamp dimmers and other solid state
controls. If the noise goes away when you disconnect the
speaker, then it probably is DC at the output causing noise
with mismatched secondary windings.

Thanks Nelson! You make me happy....Darn!I can't come to see you at CES,I whish I could. But it is too far....

Anyway,is it possible that output DC on the sec, windings causing that noise?

The model is Aleph 4 but in mono blocks version. The toroid is 2X40V 500VA ( but I use 2 diode bridges, one for each winding.Afterwards the 2 bridges have a common point-/+which is the nodal 0V point for the amp)

I suspected one of the toroids was bad quality(not tightened enough) or perhaps to small for the draw. but no ?

Yes indeed, but only if the two secondary windings are not
identical.

If they are not identical, but separate, you can cure this
problem by using to bridges, one for each winding, one
producing + and the other producing - rail.

Well in fact it is exactly the way my Aleph PSU works, with 2 diode bridges. The problem might be somewhere else.

Oh,yeah,I remember now.I have an auxillary little transformer for the 2 PAPST fans to cool the beasts. On one channel they are powered by the main power supply +,with series power resistors. This amp doesn't snore. !!!!
But in the other block I use a little transformer for the fans.I had no place left inside chassis and it is placed just against the main toroid.I guess the problem comes from magnetic pulses from the 2 transformers influencing each other.Right?

In that case it is not an issue

well I have to finish my CAT 5 speakers cables

Best regards
