Lightbulb Aleph X PCBs in Europe (Jazzy...pls read)

Since getting them from the US seems costly (due to forwarding expenses) I searched here and there on the forum, and Brian was so kind to give me this hint:

I have my order placed by Hifi-Zen, and I think that the difference in cost of sending it out of the U.S. or out of Slovenia isn't that big.

Question Alex X- PCB

Hi all,

This design is BRIAN intelectual property, so we must hear his opinion first.
In 5 working days I can produce up to 100 Pcs.
Today i will also check at Post office what is freight cost for delivery in Europe.

I will contact forum later today one more time!

Joze

I also have ordered boards from Hifizen, and asked about shipping cost.

He told me that he usually ship internationally by USPS Global Priority Flat-Rate envelope (small), which is $5 USD to Belgium, probably other EU countries as well.
But, the flat-rate envelope does not come with insurance, so if you'd like another option, please go to www.usps.com and look at the international shipping rates and options.

I checked the usps site and foud that the shipping cost to Norway is the same as to Belgium, 5$.
I don`t think that is expencive.

You're right, I thought transport would cost much more.
I asked HifiZen to count me also for some boards.

I give you permission to use the design files for bulk order. I would recommend testing the boards first. I have started populating my board, and will start testing it next week.

I have a few revisions that I am making to the board:
-changing the mounting of the devices on one side, so that the devices can be mounted directly to the heatsink. Currently, one side is GDS, and the other is SDG. I won't have a problem with this, since I am using short wires to my heatsink (my case is 8" wide anyway). I am also thinking of adding the placement for using Fred's CCS also, so that you can try both.

If you decide that you like the pcb layout as it is, go for the bulk order with it. It will take me another week or so to test my board and finish the next revision. I think that the current layout is great if you don't mind the hassle of one side with the devices upside down. You can mount it directly to a heatsink, with one side devices going up, and the other side them going down.

I have some friends in Bangalore that travel back and forth to the states often, so I am thinking of getting my boards from here (not a bulk order). The cost would be about half the cost of Joze's for quantities of 10. I am doing a trial run with my leachpcb boards now to see how the quality turns out.

Bottom line: feel free to use my layout and help out all of the members in europe avoid the shipping charges from the states. any input on the pcb is appreciated, as I am open to any improvements.

Lightbulb Shipping costs

I have asked Post company about EMS ( Expres mail service) shipping cost for two PCB.
They told me , that the EMS shipping cost to Norvay or Italy or AIR-MAIL to USA is the same, cca. 6US$.
