F1 Mods

I've purchased a used First Watt F1. We have read the service manual on the firstwatt web site and viewed the schematics, however; I don't have the experience to understand how it can be modded to sound even better.

Anyone got any mods for the F1. I can solder.

What speakers are you running it to? From what I understand, that can make it or break it for you. I guess you could raise the rails, but that would increase dissipation beyond what the stock heatsinks could handle. A specialty amplifier like that shouldnt be touched (you're in possession of a fine piece of history). If you can solder, I suggest you build your own F1 and experiment from there.

You can tailor the amp to the speaker with loading as explained
in the written material. As such, there are many opportunities
to improve the performance, but none that I know of internal
to the amplifier.
