Default need 25W amp, aleph 3 or zen?

hey all. im already thinking ahead to my next project.

i want to make a new monoblock for my bass transducers. they cannot, (read, CANNOT) handle more than 25 watts. a mono channel is fine. so, if i could make a 25-watt version of the aleph3, that would do, OR a 25-watt zen amp?

the thing is, i already have more than enough parts for a single aleph3. i would just need case, power supply. but i have all resistors, etc.

any ideas? is it possible to get the aleph3 down to only 25-watts? and if so, would it run cooler?

Default 25 WATT MOSFET with good data.

25 WATT MOSFET of very good quality

Try this on, cowanrg

Will save you a lot of money.
Allowing you to build 2-4 with same money.

And if you modify it,
start a thread about it.

I would like to know the details!

If your mind is set to want a Zen-amplifier
Call it "Cowan-Tzen One" and ingrave that on the front
and it will "sound" more Tzenish.

you people think i care about money

im looking for best, not that which is "very good". i will clearify, the amp must produce either 50W power at 8ohms. its going to power 2 transducers are 25W each. (sorry, forgot to mention that)

and how will that amp save me money? aside from heastinks (and of course power supply, which is pretty standard across the board), i already have all the parts needed for the aleph3.

i guess ill rephrase, which would be the best 50-watt monoblock? im really dumb about electronics, i cant modify to save my life. i just copy what others have done. im just here to make stuff that i could normally not afford. sorry nelson, the real alephs are out of my price range

After many questions, reading reviews, getting opinions, I settled for the Aleph30. Alot of folks consider it to be the best in it's class, even better then the Krell KAV 300i .

It can do anything you ask for.

Cowanrg,

The Aleph 3 (which you have the parts for) calls for 2 plus and 2 minus output devices per channel. This might be a little light for 50W into 8ohms. You may want to use 3plus and 3 minus output devices per channel. Then you would have an Aleph 5.

well, if i wire the transducers in parallel, i get 4 ohms from them, therefore, that would be 60w from an aleph3? could i run it lower to get it around 50? wait, i think the answer is yes

Limiting power? In the words of Mickey Thompson, "too much power is almost enough". The sin would be for your bass drivers to run dry. ie, It's not what you got, it's how you use it.
