Pearl MC Pre-Preamp
I started a new thread for this new project.
I am making PCBs for an MC Pre-Premplifer to be used with the Pearl Phono Preamplifier.

It will be powered from the Pearl and can fitted on top of the Pearl.

I will be posting more information here like PCB layout parts etc.

sounds interesting.

I have had my Pearl up and running for a couple of months now. I would have to say it sounds fantastic. I'm using it with a Grado Sonata high output. I know that at some time I will want to try a lower output mc. Keep us posted.

This is the schematic from the Aleph ONO XONO Preamp.
Its only the input for MC with the Parts used on the PCB.

This is what the Board will look like.
I still have to check the Layout one last time.
If anybody sees a mistake please point it out.

On your board layout, what are the dimensions of the board itself. I need to make a template and check it against my pearls.

promitheus 27th April 2006 03:30 PM

63mm x 126mm

The Board fits directly beside the big Caps C7, C8 and C15.
But it must be placed above the MKP output Cap C9.

The best would be to use an extension screw on the left bottom corner. The other 3 corners could then be placed on adhesive plastic PCB mounting things.
