Ok, I'm new to diy audio. I've been on the video site for a while. Now, I want to build speakers and a preamp and amp. I'll read a while and see what's out there. But...if anyone has any suggestions for a rookie, let me know. I'm itching to build something.

Welcome.
For amp I suggest you the Aleph series (large choice of output power), or the Aleph X which is progressing continusly.
Take a look for the official Pass products and phylosophy. and I'm sure you will be amazed to build something relate to it.

If you're new to DIY Audio, I recommend Nelson Pass's Zen amplifiers. Build a 2, then upgrade it to a 3 and then a 4. You'll learn a lot, and the real bonus is that Nelson has written great articles with lots of description of how they work.

For a preamp, the Bride of Zen (unbalanced) or the Bride of Son of Zen (BOSOZ) (balanced) are both highly recommended.
