Around 2,2A? That is what the lightbulbs had to endure in the V8 I believe.

From the V9 paper I gather it is around 2A. Is this fairly constant? Or does this change with transients?

How "bad" is it if a b+ of 40vdc is used instead of 50vdc?


PS...bad in my book is if resistor changes have to be calculated

2A is the DC operating bias current and doesn't not change with the AC signal. With the Zv9 sporting an Aleph current source at about 50% AC current gain it gets a boost and the signal current can peak to 4A during transients. This prevents clipping beyond the bias current.

At 40V rail you lose about 5V of peak voltage.
