Default BYW56 diodes as hi-end rectifier?

Hi all,

I posted this already on the power supply forum but without success, so I try it here!

I've got a bunch of BYW56 Diodes (so called sinterglass avalanche types), rated 1000V and 2A, in SOD-57 case.
Did somebody make experiences with those, and could say if they are suitable as high quality diodes in High-End audio applications?

They are probably Philips built items. They seem to be cheap though...

Thanks,

- dan
