I was assuming that the inductors Tyimo was referring to were loads for the gain devices. If not--if he meant inductors in the power supply--then smaller ones would do, such as the 2mH ones Nelson showed in the power supply in the article.
Tyimo, were you wanting to use the inductors in the circuit or in the power supply?

And while we're at it, what happened to the schematics at the beginning of the thread?
Harrumph!

Hi Grey
Harrumph! (what ever that means?) - here it is, I hope.

Mr. Pass, Grey and Moe29!
Thanks for the answer!
I would like use in the circuit instead of the power resistors.
Thanks again!

Henrik,
Thanks, that'll make things a bit less confusing. Someone coming across the thread for the first time would probably do quite a bit of head scratching, trying to figure out what it was all about. You've saved the day, as I no longer have the file (the virus that ate my PC a while back gobbled it up).

Not to give away too much of a future ZV, but you might
as well get rid of R5 and R6 and reduce the V- value, R12
and R13 appropriately.

Easy for you to say...you've got scads of gargantuan heat sinks underfoot.
I haven't gone back and checked the older posts, but I seem to recall that I was trying to take some of the heat dissipation off of the current source MOSFETs. I've got heatsinks now that I didn't have then, not to mention better suited MOSFETs, so I might take another whack at this in the near future.
Actually, I'm glad this thread got resurrected as there are other things that can be done to the circuit...

Well, that's a ****er.
I try to load a 50k JPG file and the site tells me it's too big? So why does it say that it'll take 100k files if it's gonna poop out on one half that size? Once upon a time, the site worked. Gee, I'm glad I got the Aleph-X file posted before whatever broke, broke.
Grumble, grumble, grumble...

Grey

EDIT: Well, now, isn't that cute? The moderators' little subroutine for parsing character strings works. We must protect innocent eyes from seeing four letter synonyms for urinate, you know. But the file upload subroutine is kaput? I sense a case of misplaced priorities, here.
More grumble, grumble, grumble...
