I am currently working on two Ono's, - one for myself and one for my brother.......
Looking through my supply boxes, I noticed that I have only BL versions of the 2SK170, and I remember there was some fuzz about raising the source resistors in order to decrease the current when using BLs...doing a search didn't really make me any wiser.... Is there any conclusion to this matter, from those of you who have finished the Onos...?? |

Hi,
I raised the source resistors and disabled the high gain stage (76dB) You can set the source resistors for 4mV / fet. Works fine william

Hi William,
Could you explain 4mv per FET. Do you mean 4ma per Fet? GL |

ooops,
yes 4mA, sorry. william P.S. I used 22R source resistors and have between 4,56 and 4,68mA bias per fet. It gets a bit higher after warmup. I used fets with Idss between 6,36 and 6,40mA and 6,51-6,70 mA. Had 25 to match measuring Idss and Vp so I could draw the Vgs-Id diagram and choose a source resistor.
